Sneak Preview

Somewhere out there is a professional movie critic with your taste.

Rate a handful of famously divisive movies and we'll search the published verdicts of hundreds of professional movie critics to find the ones who see movies the way you do — critics who review everything, and will keep reviewing for years. Their verdicts — thousands from the past, new ones every week — become your personal guide to what’s worth watching.

Questions, answered

Why professional critics instead of ratings from other users?

Plenty of sites can match you with other users. None of them can match you with someone whose job is watching movies — and that difference is the whole product.

A professional critic brings four things no anonymous rating ever can: a large, reliable track record — often thousands of published verdicts, so your match rests on real evidence rather than a handful of stars; a future — they review every notable release, week after week, so your match keeps delivering for years; full written reviews you can actually read to understand the why behind every verdict; and a name and a reputation standing behind every opinion.

A crowd can tell you what the average person thinks. A matched critic tells you what you'll think — before you press play.

Why haven't I seen more of the movies in the quiz?

That's by design, and it's the secret to why the matching works.

The quiz uses movies that split professional critics — roughly half loved each one, half didn't. Your opinion of a divisive movie reveals a lot about your taste. Your opinion of The Godfather Part II reveals almost nothing — nearly everyone agrees it's great, so agreeing with everyone can't tell us which critics are yours.

So skip freely. "Haven't seen it" is a completely normal answer — most people skip plenty — and rating even ten or fifteen divisive movies tells us more about your taste than rating fifty beloved classics ever could.

Is it free?

Completely. No account, no signup required to take the quiz and meet your panel. Leaving your email is optional — it gets you updates when your critics review new movies, plus your full list of past movies they loved.

Matches are based on each critic's published Fresh/Rotten verdicts. Agreement covers the movies you both rated — a critic can only be scored on films they reviewed. The top spots are often a photo finish, so follow anyone on your panel with confidence.
